ABOUT US
We are Arthur & Sarah, the owners of Happy Dash Farm located in Boomer, North Carolina (Wilkes County) and are High school sweethearts who have been together for 27 years with 4 amazing kids & 2 grandbabies!
My passion for animals came early in life as my parents will tell you. As a little girl, you could find me hanging out in my rabbits enclosure or bringing home all the stray animals! As soon as I turned 18, I began my career in veterinary medicine & over the years I have spent time working in veterinary hospitals as well as working & volunteering with wildlife rescue & rehabilitation organizations.
Arthur is a mechanical engineer & manages the maintenance team of a large case ready meat facility here in Lenoir NC. He is the backbone to our farm & is a jack of all trades. There is literally nothing that man can’t do!!
We started Happy Dash Farm in 2009 after my father was in a serious motorcycle accident but it wasn’t until 2020 that we started to get serious as first-generation farmers.
We absolutely fell head over heels in love with the Highland breed and wanted a way for others to experience the joy we got from them, so we became the very first in Wilkes County to provide Highland Cow experiences for our community! What started off with photography quickly evolved into educational farm tours & us providing super fun events for the community such as paint parties, workshops, and our Happy Dash Farm exclusive event “Coffee & Cows”.
Our goal is to provide a place for people of all ages to come out & experience this majestic breed and while you’re here, visit all of our other adorable animals! One of our favorite things to do is to create one of a kind, unique experiences through our gatherings with the community and are always looking for new & exciting ways to bring all the fun to the farm. Happy Dash Farm isn't just a farm, it's our home too & we want you to feel like you are hanging out in your own back yard, a place you can relax and slow down from the hustle & bustle of life and hang out with old friends or make new ones.
We love getting to know people on a personal level & it's such a joy for us to build friendships with our visitors & watch your kids grow up and them becoming best friends with our kids.... it's something that makes our hearts so full!

The Meaning Behind The "Dash" in Happy Dash Farm
"For that dash represents all the time
that they spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved them
know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own -
the cars...the house...the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash"
